Panel: Reframing the Narrative On The Human

Talat Yaqoob FRSE is an independent consultant, social researcher and award-winning campaigner. Her work focuses on systemic inequalities, and how intersectional approaches can be taken to improve outcomes for women and communities of colour. She has worked across a number of areas including women’s political representation, tackling violence against women, anti-racist policy making and public participation in policy design and politics. She is a fellow of the Royal Society of Edinburgh and co-chair of the First Minister’s National Advisory Council on Women and Girls. She is a regular media commentator and is founder of Pass the Mic; the national directory and programme to amplify the expertise of women of colour in media and influencing.
