Session: Exploring Children's Rights and AI - Breaking News!

Dr Janis Wong is a Postdoctoral Research Associate at The Alan Turing Institute, researching on data protection, ethics, and governance in the Ethics Theme of the Public Policy programme within domains such as health, education, justice, and human rights. Currently, she is working on the Exploring Children’s Rights and AI project, a collaboration between Children’s Parliament, Scottish AI Alliance, and The Alan Turing Institute to involve children in AI development and implementation. Our public engagement work will inform policymakers to support the development of child-centred AI. Janis holds an interdisciplinary PhD in Computer Science from the University of St Andrews on co-creating data protection solutions through a commons, which was awarded the Stefano Rodotà Award by the Council of Europe for best data protection thesis.
