Session: Your Care, Your Future - The Role & Perception of AI in Healthcare

Jo studied law (LLB) at Newcastle University, and qualified as a solicitor in Australia. She worked there for 10 years. Returning to England, she then spent 30 years as a non-executive director in the NHS, mostly working in mental health. For the last 10 years before retirement, she was Chair of a large mental health trust. Jo continues to sit on Mental Health Act hearings several times a month.

She has spent a lot of time in the criminal justice system as well, as a magistrate and 11 years on the Parole Board. She is currently vice chair of the Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution, and sit as a lay member on the north east and Cumbria Local Research Network.
