Marianne is a PhD student in Social Informatics at Edinburgh Napier University, sponsored by Skills Development Scotland (SDS). Her research is focused on methods for working with domain experts and users to develop designs for chatbots in career services for young people. This requires ensuring that best practice for inclusive and fair access to career support is incorporated into the design. Marianne previously worked in data governance, and her other research interests include ethical AI, metadata management, and dialogue as an information medium.
